Our History
We proudly sponsored the following pro tours
Wood on the water began in 1990 in a small boat house on Pewaukee Lake.
Using old world techniques each lure was individually hand crafted from solid
blocks of selected red cedar, Pine and birch . After building and testing
hundreds of prototypes the Tap Stick was born and became a overnight
sensation. Never before has a muskie or a fisherman seen a lure with such a
realistic snake-like action. Soon other models followed, The Sudden Impact,
The Pop Monster, The Hell Knocker with it's tight wiggle and flashing pitch,
followed by the world's easiest to use glide bait, The Power Probe. This lure
has the ability to walk the dog on just a straight retrieve or glide to precise
180 degree turns with just a single turn of the reel. Although we don't work
out of the boat house anymore our lures are still built using the same hand
crafted old world techniques.

Our Mission
About us
Wood on the Water has been making hand crafted wood lures since 1990 and
prides it self on making the highest quality, natural looking and acting
muskie lures in the world. The dark colored lures have a white or yellow
marker dot on the head that allows you to find your lure quicker in dark or
stained water, giving you extra time to look for follows. Our goal is not to
become the largest manufacture of muskie lures but to create lures that are
easy to use for any person to use regardless of age, sex or abilities.  We
don't mind that over half of our lures are bought by collectors and by art
lovers because they love our lures classic lines and beautiful one of a kind
paint jobs, but our goal is to help people to catch fish, lots of fish and large
fish. Whether fishing for eels in Japan, Striped bass on the east coast,
northern pike in the Netherlands or trophy large mouth bass and muskie at
your local lake we want to do every thing we can with a lure so your
adventure, and therefore your life, are greatly improved. Please send in
photos of your fish caught with Wood on the Water lures and we'll put them
up for display on our gallery page. Always remember Wood on the Water
lures work best when wet. Thank you, Joe Herbert, Owner, Artist.
